Seville Golf & Country Club is a private 18 hole golf course located in Gilbert, Arizona, about 40 miles south of central Phoenix and 50 miles from Scottsdale.
The Seville Golf Course first opened for play in March 2001. The course was designed by Gary Panks.
The course is pretty straight forward and generous off the tees.
#1 is a wide-open par 4 (410 yards from the back tees, 285 yards from the forward tees).
#2 is a par 5 (555 yards from the back tees, 460 yards from the forward tees). It is a dogleg right on your second shot. A well-placed second shot will trickle down a slight hill and edge very close to the green.
#5 is also a par-5 dogleg right (530 yards from the back tees, 425 yards from the forward tees) that requires a tee shot over a desert wash studded with heavy grasses.
Some say that the three finishing holes are the highlight of the course.
#16 is a short par 4 (315 yards from the back tees, 205 yards from the forward) with a lake that runs up and down the right side of the fairway. Many golfers who play the tee boxes that match their game are capable of making the green with their drive, giving them a good chance to make birdie or possibly an eagle possibility.
#17 is a short par 3 (145 yards from the back tees, 90 yards from the forward) that requires hitting onto an island green.
#18, is a par-5 hole that also requires an over water carry (520 yards from the back tees, 420 yards from the forward). But you really don't realize it until you're halfway down the fairway because the water is so far away from the tee boxes. From the back tees, you need to make a hefty drive straight down the middle of the fairway, avoiding the bunkers on either side. Then you have to lay up with a short iron right up to the edge of the water, still roughly 100 yards from the hole, or hit onto a wide stretch of fairway grass on the other side of the water. In either case, the approach shot to the green will be interesting: You could lose your ball in the water or land on a wide beach of bunkers around the hole.
